Apples of Aetherwood - Shaving Soap

I took a little bit of a gamble on getting the full size since there was no sample option available, based on how appealing the scent profile sounded. Good thing I did, because it did not disappoint. Upon first opening the container, the top notes of apple are pleasant if a bit strong, but I've learned from experience that you can't judge a shaving soap by how it smells dry. Upon lathering up, the warm undertones came through, tempering and complementing the initial fruitiness without erasing or overpowering it. The result is a warm, refreshing, not overly spiced or overly sweet scent profile that takes my mind to a stroll through an apple orchard on a late summer day, just as the sunlight is beginning to take on a golden hue through the leaves. Upon reflection, I found it reminiscent of one of the only perfumes/colognes I can stand, Dolce and Gabana's Light Blue, but frankly this is better. The shaving soap formula itself is also magnificent. Silky smooth, protects my skin, soothing, and hydrating- my skin loves it so much that I've taken to using my remaining lather as a moisturizer as part of my routine, and my face has never felt softer. If you like lighter, fruit based, less sharp or musky scents, this is absolutely a must try.
