I’ve had Chiseled Face’s Ghost Town Barber shave soap in my rotation for a while now, and it’s fantastic. One of my favorites. Lathers up rich, provides great slickness, and the scent? Absolute winner. A perfect blend of bergamot, basil, oakmoss, cedar, leather, smoke, and gunpowder—like a fresh-cut cowboy just stepped out of a barbershop before saddling up for a showdown. Classic, rugged, and downright addictive.
Since I already loved the soap, I grabbed a couple samples of the aftershave splash to see if it delivered that same Wild West magic. And at first splash? Oh yeah. Bracing, refreshing, and loaded with that signature scent. It goes on strong, gives you that satisfying post-shave burn, and for a little while, you’re riding high on that barbershop-meets-frontier-town aroma.
But here’s the deal—the dry-down fades faster than I’d like. Not a huge issue if you enjoy a short-lived splash of scent, but if you’re hoping for an all-day ghost town experience, it’ll be more of a quick visit.
Now, for me, there’s another wrinkle—I live in Japan, and thanks to shipping restrictions, full bottles of alcohol-based splashes are a no-go. Samples are fine, but if I want that scent to last, the Ghost Town Barber balm is the better bet. It’s got the same killer fragrance, but it sticks around and keeps the skin happy. Once these samples are gone, I’ll be rolling with the balm.
Bottom line? Ghost Town Barber is a top-tier scent. The splash is great for a quick-hit refresh, but if you need longevity (or can’t ship alcohol-based products), the balm is the real MVP. Either way, this one’s a keeper. 🤠🔥 By the way, for the scent, this is a solid 6 out of 5. The dry down is what made me give it a 4. Other than that, a winner.
